Why did moving to another apartment create sadness?

I have a 7 year old boy and we moved out of our apartment 2 months ago. The place where we lived was very nice and place where he was born and lived until now. There where no other changes as he goes to the same school, lives even closer to school, etc. The new apartment is bigger and even nicer then the one we moved out from. Ever since we moved in around 5 occasions he starts crying because he says he missess the other apartment. Any reason why this could be going on? Thanks

I'm seventeen and I lived in one apartment from 1-9. Things did change for me but I would have missed the apartment even if things didn't change. I thought I would be happy to leave (it wasn't so nice) but found I had gotten attached particularly to the memories I made there. However, by the end of the year I was fine. All you can do is talk a little bit to him and give him some time and space. Also, be patient! He's going to be literally home-sick for a little whole (I threw up everyday for a week!)
