My husband and I are thinking about purchasing Total Transformation. We figure if it even helps a little it will be worth it's weight in gold. We have a 10 year old son with ADHD and Type I Diabetes. His behavior seems to be worse instead of getting better with age. We have tried everything from family therapy to time-outs to spankings and nothing helps. He argues non-stop, refuses to do what is asked of him, and has started lieing on a regular basis. I cry on a regular basis. I feel that I failed him somehow, that I was unable to protect him from these diseases. I mean he is just a kid and has had the behavior issues since he was little. I knew as early as 9 months that something wasn't "right" and have spent most of the last 10 years trying to make it right and figure out what I did/am doing wrong. Any reviews on the program would be appreciated. I mainly just want to make sure that I don't do anything to make things worse.
We got the 30 day trial for the Total Transformation program for our 5 year old. First off, they don't tell you it's really only appropriate for out-of-control teens. There was nothing helpful for a young child. We have 2 teens that I guess are exceptionally well behaved based upon what the program describes! It took a while to go through it and at the end of 30 days we asked for our money back because there really is nothing in it we can use. We were 2 days past their 30 day policy so they refused to return our money -- even upon an appeals process. I think it speaks to the approach they take -- no respect, no consideration of others and no problem-solving. If you want a workable approach -- try www.positivediscipline.com. Much better!

ODD and SED by: Maggie
Hi Terri, ODD stands for Oppositional defiant disorder and SED stands for Serious Emotional Disorders. Sorry that i had used acronyms a little too casually.

Thank you Maggie by: Terri Bland
Changing my parenting style is exactly what is needed. I have been asking the "experts" i.e. the psychiatrist, the therapists, the counselors, the pediatrician, etc. "what can I do different or better?" The feedback has been inconsistent at best and downright evasive at worst. My child is just that, a child. My husband and I are the adults and need to find a way to reach our son. If this program can give us the tools to change, then it is exactly what we are looking for. My husband and I are not perfect, however, we have both broke many cycles that people often do not break - we both grew up in abusive environments with alcoholism or drug addiction, many divorces with countless step-parents, boyfriends, girlfriends, I was sexually abused by one of those step fathers. We have each been married only to each other for 11 1/2 years now, there is no alcoholism or drug addiction, and no abuse. But we were never taught or even modeled responsible parenting, so to say we were newbies to child rearing was an understatement. We have done very well, and our main "responsible" parent behavior is that of asking for help when needed and knowing that in order for our children to change, we must change. So your comment/opinion really hit the nail on the head and I will be purchasing Total Transformation as soon as financially possible. Thank you again.

Its about changing your parenting style by: Maggie
I was at my wits end with the behaviors of my 10-year old boy. I came across some reviews and finally decided to purchase the program about 3 months ago. The child has diagnosis of ODD and SED. I did saw improvements after implementing the techniques I've learnt in the first lesson.
But just a word of caution. This program is about implementing an effective parenting style for children with behavorial problems. If you do not want to change your parenting style, it may not be something suitable for you.
