Should I hold my son back in Kindergarten another year?

My son just turned 5 in November. He is the youngest in his private school kindergarten class. He knows his colors, shapes, letters, address, and numbers to 30 in the first semester of class. He does have trouble writing along a straight line. His handwriting is semi sloppy but readable. His teacher complains about going forward with teaching him to associate various sounds with his letters and beginner addition because he has not mastered writing along a straight line. I am concern that her not pushing forward with other areas ie sounds with letters because of his inability to write on a straight line may cause him to not be ready for first grade. Should I prepare myself to force him to redo K??
