Hi there I am becoming increasingly concerned as whenever my 4yr old son hurts. Himself he goes into shock he will colapse on the floor and b as stiff as a board however his eyes stay wide open but they dont move and it almost appears. that he stops breathing the only way 2 wake him from these episodes are to pick him up and talk to him I have had him at hospital but they say hell grow out of it.
I remember doing this when I was little, I hit my knee on the table and would start to cry, then I would go out...only for about 30 to 60 seconds but I would be out cold... It scared my mother to death. I was also between 4 and 6 yrs of age. I hit my elbow once and did the same thing. My mother took me to the doctor and they said I would grow out of it. I did, I have not had any problems later in life, I am 43 yrs old now.

My 6 1/2 year old has gone through the same thing. He started it at 11 months old. 1st time we called 911, thought he had a seizure. Docs said breath holding and he will grow out of it. He pretty much has grown out of it, until 3 months ago he fell and got the wind knocked out of him. He tried to breathe and couldn't then his whole body shook. I rushed him to the ER and everything was fine. I hate seeing this, it is the scariest thing in the world.
