Hi eveyone, I have a quick question. My son's penis is quite red on the very tip and he seems uncomfortable and always wants to be held on the hip. My doctor told me to give him an anti-fungal cream plus a childs pain killer but he seems to still be uncomfortable. Any suggestions on how to relieve his discomfort?
I forgot to mention that my sone is 2.5 years old.
Thank you

Redness on the tip of my sons penis and pain
Bim is right about the retraction of a boy foreskin. My 13 year old told me the interesting news that he has retracted his foreskin. by finding out himself. I always have been a firm believer to let boys find things out as much as possible about their bodies before puberty. Then I will tell them the facts of life. This way I have a far more open relationship with my boys. But I must say I was not aware of the dangers of either forcing boys to retract the foreskin or expecting them to do this action for the sake of hygene. I'm glad I know, so that I don't pass on wrong ideas to other people.

Don't retact itNEW by: Bim
Some have given advise, that the foreskin of the boy be retracted when bathing or cleaning it. But don't do that. Let the boy by nature do it when he wants to but never tell him to retract the foreskin or dpo this for him. This muts never happen, because it could tear the tender areas of this body part and also cause infections. So let nature take it's course, otherwise the advise given sounds good.

Before use, consult a doctor by: Felix
I recommend in addition to the other suggestions:
Nilstat oral liquid. It should be dripped , (just 2 drops on the penis glance and 1 drop into the penis slit entrance). But since he is a little boy, the liquid could be a too potent and may have to be diluted. Before trying this great remedy, see a doctor.
All the best to the little lad.

The Tea Tree oil, sounds good. I recommend Betadine ointment. Simply apply it to the glans and tip of the boy penis.
Also, if nothing else works penecilin and anti bacterial tablets should overcome this. These must be obtained through a doctor.

A sound remedy by: Pim
CJ James:I recommend for your little boy's sore and inflamed penis tip the following: make a cup from the bottom part of a plastic soft drink or milk bottle; you can cut it off by using a sharp knife or scissors. Fill the cup with cold water now add 2 drops of Tea tree oil to the water (tea tree oil is a very gentle but incredibly potent healing and disinfectant oil).It is best -unless the little lad is circumcised- to peel back his foreskin. Now dangle his male appendage in the small cup with the fluid for a minute or so. If for some reason he feels unhappy simply toss the liquid from the cup, rinse and fill with cool water wash the penis clean of the fluid. From personal experience there should be no unpleasant reaction from the fluid. So let him use the fluid in the cup and do the dangling 4 times a day. At the end of the day for hygiene reasons toss the cup away and make another cup. Soon the problem should disappear. Remember don't use eucalyptus oil or anything else than what I recommended. I can't be sure that you can obtain Tea tree oil everywhere in the world. I do recommend that you don't get the Tea tree oil solution on his little ball sack. Let me know how you went the little lad, best wishes and love your kid!
