My child is too introverted. How do i get him to be more sociable?

My son is 6 this year and he still likes to stay indoor rather than play with our neighbour's kids his age. I am pretty sure he is not autistic or any other medical conditions which may had caused him to behave this way. I am a little concerned as he just likes to stay at home and being happy just by reading or doing his coloring. It does not seem to me that this is what any 'normal' boy his age would do.
My neighbour's kids are his age and they are often out playing balls and cycling,....Should i be worried about my son's behavior? Is he just introverted thats all?
thanks

Leave the kid alone. This is what I hate about mothers who are overly concerned with thier children's 'strange' behaviour. He's only six.

Leave the child alone. There is nothing wrong with introversion. Introverted children are brighter and more intelligent than extroverted child. You should get on your knees and thank God that you have such a precious child who is no trouble like extroverted children are. Leave the child alone.

Your child is could be introverted. There is nothing wrong with it. Don't make him feel that there's something wrong with him and believe it or not but he sinces it with your concern. You should really read The Introverted Advantage (can't remember the authors name. There is also a book she wrote on raising Introverted children.
