My 9 yr old son is constantly going to the nurses office at school

by jan

My 9 yr old son is always saying he is hurt and acting injured. He goes to the nurses office at school many times a week with an injury but then can run around without any trouble moments later - he plays sports and almost every practice has an injury resulting in hime being unable to walk or run. When watching him we observe that his limp is often on the non injured side - he will go from being unable to move to running and playing tag moments later

we have pointed this out to him and what concerns me is that we don't believe him anymore when he says he is injured. If something really actually happened we wouldn't believe him

it seems like an attention getting thing but i don't understand what is at the root of it all and why it manifests this way
