your first problem is that you aren't in control here. he is. you are yelling and losing control of your emotions. be very calm don't let him see you lost control. second, you are letting his mother do what you should be doing. stop threatening to call his mommy. your basically being the tattle tell. he will never respect you.

First try to stop yelling at him. I am a Mother of an eight year old who has a step Mom and would not be happy if she yelled at my son to get results. The next time your step son asks you to do something simply ignore him. Do it a couple of times and then point out to him how it makes him feel when you ignore him. Tell him it makes you feel the same way when he ignores you.
