my 4 year old does not like any changes in routine

My 4 year old will start school in September and has been going to nursery for nearly 18 months, he was ill for just over a week and when he went back, he cried when I left him both days, the third day he was fine, but was sobbing when I picked him up, because they had put a DVD on, something which has not happened before. This is only a small part of his behaviour where any change to routine is altered.
