How do i talk to this teacher? How do i help my son feel comfortable in school? Do I ask to have him switched to another class? Do I let him work it out on his own?

Cindy, be glad that your boy is sensitive in a world where so few are. The world is not easy and he is so fortunate that you understand him. Some teachers would frighten the Colosus of Rhodes-so-to-speak. I have had to deal with a few teachers similar to yours. Talking straight forward is the best.You have an advantage, beause he does not know what you are on about. Best if possible to take your husband along as well. By telling him how your boy is affected by his attitude. You must of course be fair to the teacher and ask how he can help. If he is brusque then tell him you have no option but to seek his transfer to another clas or school and that you will inform the head master about it. That may change his attitude, whatever transpires monitor the situation closely Your son here is number one, so act now and love your kid.
