lack of concentration, unpredictable results in school tests

i have a 9yr old daughter and her biggest challenge is concentration. when she puts her mind to a task she does a great job be it studies or any other activity . however it is very difficult to predict how she will fare especially in her school tests because even if i have prepared her well her marks do not reflect the effort put in.what am i missing here. i do try not to force her to study but firmly make sure she puts in the required time. how to tackle this unpredictability in her output. thanks
