My daughter told me this true story about my six year old granddaughter, which I placed in our church 'news letter' this Christmas.
A mother and father were having a heated argument in the kitchen. Their six year daughter was sitting at the kitchen table watching her parents, her little head swung from side to side as she listened in. The mother suddenly realised what they were doing, immediately she stopped, and looked down at her daughter. I'm so sorry sweetheart, she said with a quiet smile, Mummy and daddy shouldn't argue in front of you like that¯.
That's alright mummy, she said with a bright smile, it's the only time I get to find out what's going on.¯

i had such a good laugh when i read this. She is so sensible but yet 'funny'. She reminds me of my 2.5 year old daughter now...she is getting cheekier now and sometimes will respond in the most unexpected manner (often giving me a good laugh too!)
