I can't get my kids to sleep all night in thier own bed, they come in my room all night back and forth.

I have a 2 & 3 yr old. Due to circumstances from when they were younger I had to let them sleep with me. Now that we have our own place and they have their own room I can't get them out of my bed. Thier father and I are still together and have no time to spend with each other. I put them in thier bed at night and within an hour or two they are in the bed with us. I was wondering if anyone out there had any advice on how to keep them in thier bed. If I take them back to the bed then they will be back with me in no time, I get no rest and then I feel frustrated and aggravated with them. I NEED ADVICE!! Can anyone help me?? I have had no rest in 3 years. At this point anything would help.

You may need to harden your heart just to let kid cry by: Tahani
Hi Gena,
I fully understand how you feel. I've got 2 kids, one is 3 and the other is 1. When my second kid came, my husband and i decided that we should let the older child sleep in her own room while the baby sleep in a crib together in our room. It was a struggle initially as the older child would cry almost every night and wanted to sleep with us. But we made the decision to just harden our hearts and let her cry. It took us one month to get her accustomed to her new room. Now, she sleeps in her room while the younger kid is sleep in our room. Its a decision that we have to make as parents and getting kids to learn about independence during the early years can be very tough.
