My 2 1/2 year old daughter falls down and gets hurt several times a day! She is super smart...above average! Can count to 20 say, read small books, etc. She also has good coordination. So I don't know whats wrong with her. But I don't think it is normal because she can walk and run great usually just falls alot. Any suggestions?

Constant Falling down and getting hurt
I agree, you should take her to have her ears checked. My daughter was clumsy, falling down alot and just tripping over nopthing and it was an ear infection and has had trouble with ear infections which effects their equilibrium.

Cant have it all by: Anonymous
Every childs develops differently, if she can do all the things you say she may just be more accademic (as thats a lot for a 2 and half yr old) and not that great physically. It will catch up in time though. But if you are worried then ask your doc.

Pediatrician by: Anonymous
I would suggest going immediately to your pediatrician for an evaluation and possible neurology consult. That is not normal development. Hopefully it is nothing other than a bit of clumsiness or maybe even an inner ear infection (these can go undetected and mess with our equalibrium) but it is better to be safe than sorry.
