After 5 yrs of babysitting nephew, he has started to cry each time his dad drops him off?
I have babysat my 5 yr old nephew since he was 7 weeks and he has always loved to come here and hated to leave. His parent have been spit up for about two years. 90% of time they are on good term with each other. Recently my nephew has started to cry every time his Dad brings him over in the morning. Doesn't usually do it with Mom. I don't know whats going on. His father is the type that always has to be liked and will twist things sometimes to cover up something he knows was wrong. I have asked several times what's going on now and nobody knows why he is crying. He says he doesn't want Dad to leave and wants to stay with him now. He says he doesn't want to come over my house anymore. I believe this all started from his father putting thoughts in his head because school will be starting for him soon, but I don't know. My problem is how do I stop the emotional mess that is starting to build. The nephew is fine after 5 minutes or so. I just don't want to say or do the wrong thing. Do I just tell him to stop crying that this is the way it is ( he has lots of fun at our house) or do I cuddle him and let him cry and say nothing or what. Please help.
