My 9 year old ( good natured, smart, not depressed, no ADHD, no learning difficulties) has said on 3separate occasions I want to kill myself when he has been disciplined. Each time he has said this after getting into trouble for not behaving up to our expectations. We are a relatively strict family in terms of discipline but do not physically hit our children. How should I react to this comment?? I am not sure if I should ignore the comment, or address it. I have spoken to family doctor and am taking child in for a complete physicial next week. Any suggestions/help?
