9 Year old daughter, will not listen after being told 100 times! HELP!

Our 9 year old daughter will not listen, she says no to every time we tell her to sit in the chair for bad behavior.She lies to us, she argues with us over everything. So we decided to take away her favorite stuffed animals. She was devastated! but still no good behavior. She understands that if she shows us that she tries to do better she will get them back. But in fact she is getting worse. So we are thinking of taking away her blanket for a night, but will it mentally hurt her? is it a bad thing to do? She is attached to it just as much as the stuffed animals.
