7 year old Autistic child listens well to father and teachers and theripist but difies his mothers authority more each day.,
Seeking help for a family member ..My 7 year grandchild was born premature and has some autism, some sensory issues and is deaf, but cochlear implanted. He is extremlyly bright, speaks well and does very well in math, reading, and other activites. His behavior is good with all his therapists and his father but he has gotten to the point he will have screeming fits and misbehave on a regular basis with his mom. She may have been less stern in the his early years but has always corrected him and used great teaching and parent skills... but now is having a very hard time with him listening at all. His mom has always spent alot of time with him and been very patient with him through the years, she is constantly seeking out for all he needs in education and therapies... He wants to be held by her all the time and seeks our her attention constantly.,. He is 7 years old and attends school and is active in therapys sucessfully.. One additonal problem is that he has begun to masterbate when watching TV and at bedtime, but makes sure no one is looking.... He will stop as soon as anyone walks up, and it is obvious he knows it is wrong.. He will wake up in the middle of the night and do it, and his mother fears that he will cause himself to seizure...
