Hi! My 6yrs old son sometimes complain about pain in his penis. We have done all the tests and doctors didn't find anything wrong. The pain comes after some days or months and Keeps going on for two to five minutes with a gap of five minutes or so. Can someone tell why all this happens to him. He cries until the pain goes.Is there anything serious.

Don't do it
by: Bim

I read the advice for the sake of hygiene of telling a kid to pull back his foreskin when washing; this is wrong don't do it, except if the boy has done so himself. In all other cases, don't tell him to do it, it is the boy who by nature will do this or doesn't do it.
Infection or tearing or both can occur.

Good improvement
by: Gerrit

My 11 year old has a like problem to Baljits boy.
Of and on he suffers this sharp pain in his penis, which is normal size including his boy glands for a boy his age comparing to my son 14 month older. Doctors tests proved nothing wrong, and he thinks he will grow out of it.
We follow Mr Pims advice like extra hygiene, loose fitting undies and pants, clean undies several times a day. Also washing himself there as directed by Pim. Keep a diary of when he urinates and when the pain comes on, emptying out the bladder.
The result has been a big improvement, we think it is extra hygiene and emptying out the bladder regularly and completely.
He only gets pain once or so a month, before sometimes 2 times a day. I did notice that his forsekin is a bit tight any help there?
Thanks for help, the boys Dad

Try this
by: Pim

Pain like your boy suffers is mostly very real, but the reason is often obscure. But try this:
Keep a diary of when the pain occurs, and note what type of food and drinks hes had, that day.
Also, take note when the pain comes up what actually happened, was he urinating etc.?
When he urinates, ensure that he empties his bladder completely, ensure he urinates regularly and does not retain it for too long. Also, after urinating teach your boy to use some ordinary toilet paper to gently wipe the penis' tip to remove any remaining moisture.
As well have him wear lose fitting boy under pants and non tight shorts or pants, and replace the undies at least once per day. Be extra hygienic, so use a small plastic cup fill it with water and have your boy dangle his penis in the water for 1 minute -best to have his foreskin retracted, unless of course he is circumcised. Do this 4 times a day. Also check if his foreskin is not extra tight or painful and inflamed. When he bathes or showers ensure that there is no trace of soap left on the penis.

Make sure that no one interferes with the boy and check if he excessively touches himself.
Ask the Doctor if he recommends anti bacterial tablets.

The very best to your lad.
