20 yr old till living at home and refusing to get a job

My 20yr old stepson is living with us. He refuses to work. I got him a cell phone 15 months ago to call about jobs or so they could call hin for an interview. He has not even tried to get a job, so I turned off the cell. we do not have a home phone only cell phones.He has diabetes but can call 911 only from his cell, his mother doesn't want him living with her but wants to tell us we are responsible for him. He is 20 yrs old and has been given every oppertunity get a job but only wants to play video games all night and sleep all day. He told her we don't have food in the house, but we do it's just not what he wants to eat. Are we still accountable for this lazy young man.

well i am going through the same thing but i am not supplying a cell phone or giving an allowance. my 19 yr old still wont work i dont know what it is. i dont make things comfortable for him so i really dont know what the problem is i say everyday to him how bad i want him out of my house. i dont buy clothes i dont buy his favorite foods hey i need help to.by the way he has no key to my home.

what in the world are you people doing you are not helping him at all. Do I dare ask if you still spank him if he's bad? he does not work because he has it to good at home. what you should do is set a date for him to find a job if he has not found a job by then.change the locks on the house and that it until then you do not give him any money that was a good idea to cut the cell phone but you might want to think about reconnected it for the purpose of him giving it to potential job interviews. I hnow you are going to say but he's my son and we love him ok that fine but you are helping him but letting him bum around do you like supporting. you work hard you guys have jobs. you cannot allow him to continue this way

I would use a little tough love...pick a date on the calendar and tell him that by such and such a date if he HAS NO JOB he is thrown out of the house and do it....change the locks on the house if you have to. The law is he is an adult!!!
